Smitten Films creates custom family films from the videos and photos you take, transforming your everyday moments into beautiful memories you can watch with your family forever.

Why did you start Smitten Films?

When my first son was born in 2008, I started taking a ridiculous amount of pictures and videos. Between my iPhone, my DSLR, and my husband’s devices, we amassed tons of footage in the first few months alone - but we had no idea what to do with it all. At that time, I was living in London - far away from my family and friends - and I wondered: how I could gather all the footage into one place and make it highly watchable and easily shareable with friends and family around the world? With a brief stint in film production under my belt, I started editing pictures and videos down to the best bits and turning the highlights into films, eventually doing the same for family and friends, and then for parents who were referred to me – Smitten Films was born.

I think Smitten Films stands out because of the care we take to really get to know the unique, personal stories of our clients. We take a lot of time up front to ask questions about the family members, their preferences, and their particular circumstances. That way we can create a narrative with the film that is really poignant and true.

What does the ideal Mother’s Day look like to you?

Coffee brought to me in bed, followed by a family brunch at Little Park in Tribeca (their spelt pancakes are AMAZING). Then we embark on one of our favorite city adventures: crossing the Brooklyn Bridge to Jane’s Carousel in DUMBO, or a bike ride up to Central Park, with amazing food along the way, of course. To finish the day, a 2 hour session at Aire Ancient Baths in Tribeca would be amazing!

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I have always drawn my inspiration from people: my family, my closest friends, the women I know professionally who are running and growing their businesses, and from the people I meet every day in the great city of New York where Smitten is located.

What’s something you love to do with your kids?

Jude (8), Poppy (6) and Hudson (3). Our favorite thing to do together is travel! I’m actually writing this from Bali, where we are taking a family vacation and having some life-changing adventures! We are capturing some incredible footage, and I can’t wait for Smitten to make a really exciting and memorable family travel film of it.

When I get a little time to myself, you can usually find me...?

Doing a heated flow at Yoga Vida in Tribeca.

What are 3 things you always have in your handbag?

My iPhone, because I am constantly taking pictures and videos of my family

My water bottle, because I totally believe in healthy living and it all starts with hydration

My orange studded Anya Hindmarch wallet that my husband gave to me over 10 years ago when we first started dating. It still amazes me that he picked out something better than what I would have picked out for myself. We were meant to be!

What your favorite Mia Tango item right now? Why?

Olian Striped Pajama Set because pajamas you can comfortably nurse in is such a benefit to a mama who is trying to make it through the night with a newborn baby.

Belabumbum Romper because I love rompers!

MEV Sangha Nursing Wrap because it makes it easy to nurse anywhere for busy, on-the-go mamas.
